The suspect allegedly took the girl to an empty room and raped her when she was alone.
Mahabub Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Fatullah Model Police Station, was injured after being hit by a brick thrown by an agitated crowd while police were detaining a man suspected of child rape in Narayanganj last night (4 October).

The incident occurred around 10pm in the Panchabati Chandni Housing area under Enayetnagar union.
Zakir, son of Kader Howlader of the Banaripara Police Station area in Barishal, lives there with his family.
Police said Zakir and the girl's family live as tenants in adjacent rooms in the same house. Around 8pm, Zakir allegedly took the girl to an empty room and raped her when she was alone.
After the incident became known, hundreds of people gathered in front of Zakir's house. As the situation turned tense, Zakir locked himself inside the house, police said.
