BCCCI calls for responsible AI adoption to strengthen business competitiveness
The seminar explored the growing use of AI and blockchain in sectors including business, banking, trade, logistics and manufacturing, while examining the opportunities, challenges and practical considerations surrounding their adoption.
The Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) has highlighted the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technologies for businesses, urging their responsible adoption to improve innovation, productivity and competitiveness.
The chamber organised a seminar titled "AI and Blockchain: Transforming Business, Industry and Trade" at its office in Gulshan today (18 July), bringing together business leaders, chamber members, technology experts and media representatives, according to a BCCCI press release.
Speaking at the opening session, BCCCI President Mohd Khorshed Alam said the seminar was intended to help chamber members better understand the applications of AI and blockchain and encourage them to leverage the technologies to strengthen business performance.
"The adoption of AI and blockchain can significantly enhance innovation, productivity and competitiveness across industries," he said.

The keynote presentation was delivered by Khondkar Atique-E-Rabbani, a fellow chartered accountant and University of Bradford graduate, who shared insights into the current and future applications of AI and blockchain in business and trade.
The presentation was followed by an interactive discussion, during which participants exchanged views on the ethical and responsible use of AI and its implications for business, finance, logistics and employment.
Participants also shared practical examples of AI applications in banking, trade and port operations, underscoring the need to balance technological innovation with responsible implementation.
Concluding the programme, BCCCI reaffirmed its commitment to organising more knowledge-sharing initiatives aimed at promoting technological innovation and strengthening Bangladesh-China business and trade cooperation.
