3 killed in three-way collision involving 2 motorcycles, three-wheeler in Bagerhat
The accident occurred in front of Dona Government Primary School on the Signboard-Bogi regional highway in Morelganj.
Three motorcycle riders were killed and six others injured in a three-way collision involving two motorcycles and a three-wheeler human hauler, locally known as Nasimon, in Bagerhat's Morelganj on Saturday night (3 October).
The accident occurred in front of Dona Government Primary School on the Signboard-Bogi regional highway in Morelganj.
The deceased were identified as Limon Molla, 24, son of Babul Molla of Kalikabari area; Md Amin Khan, 23, son of Nazrul Islam of Dona village; and Soheb, 16, son of Jamal Master, also of Dona village.
Dr Md Sifat Khan, acting health officer of Morelganj Upazila Health Complex, said nine injured people were brought to the hospital after the accident in the evening. "Three of them were already dead when they arrived."
Four people received treatment and were discharged, while two others were referred to Khulna Medical College Hospital in critical condition, he added.
Morelganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shahidul Islam told The Business Standard that the accident occurred when two motorcycles collided with a Nasimon carrying coconuts.
He said police have informed the families of the deceased and the bodies will be handed over to their relatives after completion of the legal procedures.
