Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has extended his warm congratulations to Andy Burnham on his election as leader of the UK's Labour Party and his assumption of office as prime minister of the United Kingdom.
According to a statement issued on the verified Facebook page of the Bangladesh High Commission in London today (20 July), Tarique conveyed his "warmest congratulations" to Burnham and expressed confidence that Bangladesh and the United Kingdom would continue to strengthen their longstanding partnership under his leadership,
Andy Burnham officially assumed office as the United Kingdom's 59th prime minister today, succeeding Keir Starmer after being elected leader of the Labour Party.
