US denies visas to members of Iranian president's UN delegation
Iranian state news agency IRNA described the decision by US President Donald Trump as an "unprecedented hostile move" targeting the high-level presidential delegation
The United States has refused to issue visas to several members of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's delegation, including members of his communications team, ahead of his planned trip to the United Nations General Assembly this week, Iranian state media reported.
Iranian state news agency IRNA described the decision by US President Donald Trump as an "unprecedented hostile move" targeting the high-level presidential delegation, says the Middle East Eye.
"In an unprecedented hostile move by the US government, (US President Donald) Trump has denied US visas to certain members of the president's high-level delegation, including members of his communications team," IRNA reported.
Pezeshkian is due to become the highest-ranking Iranian official to enter the United States since the war began with US-Israeli strikes on Iran in February.
Despite the visa denials, Pezeshkian remains scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, Mehr news agency reported, citing a spokesperson for the Iranian presidency.
