North Korea fires missile amidst tensions; South Korea issues emergency alert
Amidst a heated exchange with Seoul over border disputes and a landmine explosion on the Korean Peninsula, North Korea has once again launched a ballistic missile off its east coast. South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff reported on October 3 that at least one ballistic missile was fired from the North Korean port city of Wonsan, traveling a distance of over 700 kilometers.
