Russia And Ukraine Agree To 3-Day Truce After Direct US Negotiations
Donald Trump has announced a three-day ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine war from May 9th to May 11th, alongside a major prisoner exchange involving 1,000 prisoners from each side. The agreement follows talks between Washington, Moscow, and Kyiv and coincides with Victory Day commemorations linked to World War Two history.
Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy have both confirmed the temporary truce as negotiations continue over a possible wider peace agreement. However, disputes over the Donetsk region remain unresolved, keeping tensions high despite this rare diplomatic breakthrough in the four-year conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
