Nationwide French student protests erupt over teacher shortages and poor facilities
French high school students are protesting nationwide over overcrowded classrooms, deteriorating school facilities, and severe teacher shortages. The movement began in Seine-Saint-Denis before spreading to Paris, Marseille, Strasbourg, Tours and Lille. More than 1,200 schools have been affected, with around 400 closed or blocked. The protests have also triggered clashes with police, thousands of arrests, and renewed debate over France's education budget and inequality.
