Valverde taken to hospital after 'training ground altercation' with Tchouameni
According to reports from Cadena SER, Valverde required stitches after suffering a head injury during the confrontation
Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde was reportedly taken to hospital after a "physical altercation" with teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni during today's (7 May) training session.
According to reports from Cadena SER, Valverde required stitches after suffering a head injury during the confrontation. The report claimed the Uruguayan midfielder hit his head on a table amid the incident.
Spanish sports dailies MARCA and AS reported that tensions had already been high before training began, with Valverde allegedly refusing to shake Tchouameni's hand earlier in the day.
The altercation was reportedly more serious than a previous disagreement between the two players, forcing teammates to intervene and separate them.
Reports also claimed that the entire Real Madrid squad remained at the training facility afterwards for an emergency internal meeting described as a "crisis cabinet" session.
Players were reportedly not allowed to leave until the matter was discussed internally.
Club officials are said to be increasingly concerned about growing divisions and heightened tensions within the dressing room, with the current atmosphere reportedly viewed as being under "maximum alert."
