EBL signs MoU with icddr,b on employee healthcare
Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with icddr,b to provide the bank's employees and their families with exclusive healthcare benefits.
Under the agreement, EBL employees, their spouses, and dependants will have access to services at icddr,b's state-of-the-art Executive Health Check Clinics in Mohakhali, Dhanmondi, Uttara, and Mirpur, according to a press release.
The bank expects the partnership to support its employees' ongoing healthcare needs by providing access to advanced diagnostic services at affordable rates.
Operating since 1990, icddr,b Diagnostic Services was the first facility in Bangladesh to secure ISO 15189 and ISO 15190 accreditations. It currently maintains the internationally recognised standards across 177 distinct test parameters.
icddr,b Head of Clinical and Diagnostic Services Dr Md Fazlul Kabir said EBL has been a committed partner in advancing social causes in Bangladesh.
He described the initiative as a reciprocal gesture between the two organisations.
The MoU provides a structured framework for referring EBL employees and their family members to icddr,b's internationally accredited diagnostic laboratories, helping ensure reliable and accurate medical testing.
EBL Head of Human Resources Rahat Afroze reaffirmed the bank's commitment to employee well-being, saying the partnership reflects its dedication to fostering a healthy and productive workplace.
Senior officials from both organisations attended the signing ceremony.
icddr,b Head of Fund Development Office Armana Ahmed, Senior Manager of Business Intelligence and Analytics Md Shahriar Bin Elahi, and Fund Development Office Development Coordinator Laila Farzana were present.
EBL Head of Brand, Marketing and Communications Ziaul Karim, Head of Business Information Systems Md Maskur Reza FCA, and other officials also attended the event.
