Prime Bank holds financial literacy seminar at Khulna University
Prime Bank PLC has organised a seminar at Khulna University to equip young people with practical knowledge of banking, financial literacy, money management, and career planning.
Titled "Financial Inclusion: Engaging and Inspiring Youth in Banking", the Empowering Youth Season 2.0 session was organised in collaboration with the Khulna University Career Club under the bank's flagship PrimeAcademia initiative, according to a press release.
The session focused on financial inclusion, responsible money management, informed financial decision-making, saving habits, and career planning.
Khulna University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Rezaul Karim attended the program as the chief guest.
Highlighting the opportunities created by advances in information technology, Rezaul encouraged students to make the most of emerging opportunities in higher education, research, and career development.
He also appreciated the Khulna University Career Club and Prime Bank for organising the session.
Prime Bank Senior Vice President and Head of Financial Inclusion and School Banking, MM Mahbub Hasan, delivered the keynote address on financial literacy and smart money management.
He discussed healthy financial habits, balancing income and expenditure, saving regularly, making informed financial decisions, and maintaining long-term financial discipline.
Mahbub also introduced his "Grandfather Concept of Personal Money Management" and highlighted Prime Bank's 31-year journey, as well as the evolving expectations of and opportunities for the younger generation in banking.
Khulna University Director of Student Affairs, Professor Dr Md Salauddin, attended the program as a special guest.
He stressed the need for more customer-friendly and effective initiatives in the banking sector, saying such programs could help students better understand the workplace and financial sector as they prepare for their future careers.
Prime Bank Vice President and Head of Talent Acquisition and Organisational Development, Monowara Khatun, conducted a mock interview session with the students. At the same time, Vice President and Regional Head (South), Mostafa Mhamud, delivered the opening remarks.
The programme also featured a career discussion and a question-and-answer session. Prime Bank presented prizes to outstanding participants.
Khulna University Career Club President Ruhul Amin Munna delivered the closing remarks.
