Trump meets with Iraq prime minister at White House, vows ‘a lot of deals’

In a meeting at the White House, US President Donald Trump and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi discussed oil, investment, jobs and the withdrawal of US troops by September 30. While the two countries pledged to strengthen economic ties, implementing their pledge to disarm Iran-backed armed groups and dealing with the impact of the Hormuz crisis will remain major challenges for Iraq.
