DUET Teachers Association new committee takes oath
Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology Teachers Association's newly elected executive committee was sworn in today at the university's conference room in Gazipur.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Engineer Mohammad Iqbal and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Arefin Kawsar of Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology attended the oath-taking ceremony.
President Professor Dr Sirajul Haque Molla of the Department of Mathematics and General Secretary Professor Dr SM Mahfuz Alam of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering took the oath during the event.
The remaining members of the 13-member committee for the 2026–2027 term were also sworn in at the event.
The committee's office bearers include Vice-President Professor Dr Mostakur Rahman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering; Joint Secretary Assistant Professor Md Masud Parvez of the Department of Mathematics; Treasurer Assistant Professor Md Touhiduzzaman of the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering; Cultural Secretary Assistant Professor Md Mahidul Hasan of the Department of Mathematics; Sports Secretary Assistant Professor Sanjid-E-Elahi of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Office Secretary Assistant Professor Akramul Haque of the Institute of Water and Environment; Publicity Secretary Lecturer Md Sakib Salim of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering; and Women's Affairs Secretary Assistant Professor Dr Umme Fawzia Rahim of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Committee members Professor Dr Sahab Uddin of the Department of Physics, Professor Dr Forkan Sarkar of the Department of Textile Engineering, and Professor Dr Md Obaidur Rahman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering were also sworn in.
Chief Election Commissioner Professor Dr Anwarul Abedin of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering administered the oath.
President Professor Dr Sirajul Haque Molla and General Secretary Professor Dr SM Mahfuz Alam expressed gratitude to the teachers of the Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology for their trust and support.
They said they would work in a coordinated manner to advance education, research, professional excellence and teachers' welfare at the university, and sought sincere cooperation from all.
