Bangladesh's forex reserves cross $33b

Bangladesh's foreign exchange reserves under the IMF's BPM6 standard have crossed the $33 billion mark, according to the Bangladesh Bank.
Confirming the development, Bangladesh Bank spokesperson Arief Hossain Khan said the country's BPM6-compliant reserves stood at $33.01 billion today (2 July), up from $32.90 billion on 30 June.
The increase comes as Bangladesh continues efforts to strengthen its external position through higher remittance inflows, export earnings and other foreign currency receipts.
