One dengue patient dies, 163 hospitalised in 24hrs
So far, 19 dengue-related deaths have been reported this year.
Bangladesh recorded one dengue-related death and 163 new hospital admissions due to the mosquito-borne disease in the 24 hours until this morning (1 July), according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The information was disclosed in a press release issued today by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the DGHS.
Among the 163 new patients, 46 are from Barishal division, 27 from Chattogram division, 23 from Dhaka division, 24 from Khulna division, 14 from Mymensingh division and four from Rajshahi division, all outside the respective city corporation areas.

In the capital, eight new patients were from Dhaka North City Corporation and 17 from Dhaka South City Corporation.
So far, 19 dengue-related deaths have been reported this year.
During the 24-hour period, 161 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the tally of recoveries this year to 5,793.
The total number of dengue cases in the country this year now stands at 6,267.
According to DGHS data, a total of 102,861 dengue cases and 413 dengue-related deaths were recorded in 2025.
In 2024, the country reported 101,214 dengue infections and 575 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease.
