Eastland Insurance holds 39th annual general meeting
Eastland Insurance PLC approved a 10% cash dividend for public shareholders at its 39th annual general meeting held today (29 June).
The annual general meeting was held on a virtual platform and presided over by Mahbubur Rahman, Chairman of Eastland Insurance PLC.
Mohammed Salim, Chief Executive Officer of the company, presented business updates to shareholders.

Board members and a large number of shareholders attended the meeting.
At the meeting, shareholders approved the directors' report and audited financial statements of the company for the year ended 31 December 2025, along with the independent auditor's report.
They also approved the appointment of the statutory auditor and corporate governance compliance auditor for 2026.
The chairman said Eastland Insurance earned gross premium of Tk96.9 crore in 2025.
He also said the company had settled claims amounting to Tk436.4 crore over its 39 years of operations.
The company's total assets stood at Tk265.3 crore as of 31 December 2025, he added.
Mahbubur Rahman said Eastland Insurance has maintained transparency and ethical practices since its inception.
He said the company received the IDRA Insurance Excellence Award 2025 in 2026, the Best Corporate Award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh for 2020 and 2013, and recognition from the South Asian Federation of Accountants in 2020.
He also said the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh awarded the company the Best Presented Annual Report Award for four consecutive years from 2012 to 2015.
The chairman said the company's credit rating for 2025-26 had been upgraded to "AAA" by Credit Rating Information and Services Ltd.
He thanked the Ministry of Finance, Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission, Dhaka Stock Exchange, Chittagong Stock Exchange, Sadharan Bima Corporation, National Board of Revenue, Bangladesh Insurance Association, banks, clients and shareholders for their support.
