ActionAid International Bangladesh Society holds 14th AGM
The 14th annual general meeting of ActionAid International Bangladesh Society was held in Dhaka in hybrid mode today (24 June).
Members of the Executive Board and General Assembly joined the meeting from different parts of the country and abroad.
Suraya Akter, Country Manager of suPPPort, was elected to the Executive Board, while Dr Samiya Selim, Professor at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, was elected to the General Assembly.
General Assembly members approved the annual audit report for 2025 at the meeting.
Members of ActionAid International Bangladesh Society also reviewed the major activities and achievements of the past year and discussed the organisation's upcoming activities and governance priorities.
Ibrahim Khalil Al-Zayad, Chairperson of ActionAid International Bangladesh Society, welcomed the newly elected members, saying they would play an important role in the organisation.
He expressed confidence that the new members would help advance ActionAid's mission, vision and values, and strengthen the organisation's governance through their expertise and commitment.
Farah Kabir, Country Director of ActionAid Bangladesh and Ex-Officio Secretary of ActionAid International Bangladesh Society, thanked the Executive Board and General Assembly members for their contributions to strengthening internal governance and accountability.
She said ActionAid International Bangladesh Society had succeeded in building an inclusive and democratic model by bringing together grassroots representatives, youth and experienced individuals within its governance structure.
Belinda Morrissey, Executive Board Member of ActionAid International Bangladesh Society and Chair of ActionAid Australia, also attended the meeting as a special guest.
