BSF's attempt to push 20 people into Bangladesh foiled by BGB at Chapainawabganj border
The 20 individuals are inside Indian territory along the zero line now, says the BGB.
Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today (20 June) thwarted an attempt by India's Border Security Force (BSF) to push 20 people into Bangladesh through the Chouka border in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj.
Lt Col Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury, commanding officer of the BGB's Mahananda 59 Battalion, said BSF troops tried to push the group into Bangladesh through the border area.
But members of the Chouka Border Outpost (BOP) intervened and prevented the attempt, he added.
Currently, the 20 individuals are inside Indian territory along the zero line, he said.
