Dog accidentally fires shotgun in Nebraska, woman injured
The victim was taken to hospital with non-serious injuries
Police in Nebraska responded to reports of a shotgun blast at a convenience store and found an unusual cause behind the incident a dog.
According to local TV station KNOP News 2, officers in Scottsbluff arrived at the scene and found a truck with damage to one of its doors.
The Guardian reports that a woman had also been hit in the arm by a shotgun pellet.
An investigation later revealed that the gun went off when a dog moved across the back seat of the vehicle after it stopped at the store.
The dog somehow triggered the shotgun, which had a live round inside, causing it to fire. The blast damaged the truck and injured a woman nearby, according to the investigation report.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-serious injuries.
It is illegal in Nebraska to drive with a loaded shotgun inside a vehicle, the police said.
