14-year-old allegedly gang-raped in Ctg
The victim’s mother filed a case at Anwara Police Station on Friday night (1 May), naming four individuals.
A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped in Chattogram's Anwara while she was on her way to her cousin's house on the night of 27 April.
The incident took place in the Haria Para area of East Gahira in Raipur union, Anwara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Junayet Chowdhury said.
Following the incident, the victim's mother filed a case at Anwara Police Station on Friday night (1 May), naming four individuals.
The accused are Abu Taher, 42, Robiul Hossain alias Chumkia, 24, Md Faruk, 23, and Anwar Hossain, 22.
OC Junayet said, "The accused have been absconding since the incident. Police are conducting operations to arrest them. We are also investigating whether they have any political affiliation. Multiple police teams are working to arrest them."
According to the case statement, the girl was allegedly abducted while passing a grocery shop owned by Taher in the Raipur area on the night of 27 April after she was found alone.
She was forcibly taken inside the shop by Taher, where she was allegedly raped.
She was later taken out of the shop and brought to a nearby wetland, where she was gang-raped by the other accused, the statement added.
The victim returned home the following morning and informed her mother, who subsequently filed the case.
The victim underwent a forensic examination at the One-Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) of Chattogram Medical College Hospital yesterday (2 May).
She is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in the city, OC Junayet said.
