The government has taken short, mid and long-term plans to fill vacant posts across public offices in a bid to keep administrative activities running smoothly, reduce public suffering and ensure citizen services, State Minister for Public Administration Md Abdul Bari said in parliament today (30 April).
Responding to a written question from opposition lawmaker Md Anwarul Islam (Kurigram-1) in parliament, the state minister said the plans have been formulated with timelines of six months, one year and five years.
He said the government is reviewing the latest status of recruitment processes across different ministries and divisions to implement an initiative to appoint around 5 lakh government employees with transparency and efficiency.
The state minister added that the Ministry of Public Administration has already sent letters to relevant ministries and divisions, asking them to provide accurate data on vacant posts and to send recruitment requisitions promptly.
He further said concerned offices have been requested to publish job circulars against vacant posts and adopt time-bound action plans to expedite the recruitment process.
Md Abdul Bari also said the government remains committed to ensuring a transparent, accountable and timely recruitment system to build a skilled workforce and make public administration more dynamic.
