In the history of the men's Fifa World Cup, only 13 players have scored within the first minute of a match, a record that remains unbroken at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The fastest goal in the current World Cup was scored by Paraguay's Matías Galarza, who found the net after 64 seconds against Türkiye, surpassing Morocco's Ismael Saibari, who had briefly held the record with a 71 second strike earlier the same day.
