British High Commission, Democracy International delegation meets home minister
Talks focus on parliamentary democracy, standing committees and proposed Cyber Protection Act amendment.
A joint delegation of the British High Commission and Democracy International paid a courtesy call on Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed at his office in the Bangladesh Secretariat today (24 September).
During the meeting, discussions were held on the development of the parliamentary democratic system, forming and enhancing the effectiveness of parliamentary standing committees, and the proposed Cyber Protection (Amendment) Act 2026.
The four-member delegation was led by Louise Beynon, Governance Adviser at the British High Commission.
Other members of the delegation included Ryan Duncanson, Political Counsellor at the British High Commission in Dhaka; Aminul Ehsan, Chief of Party at Democracy International Bangladesh; and Senior Program Director Lipika Biswas.
