BSIA launches US roadshow to strengthen Bangladesh's semiconductor ecosystem
The initiative will connect Bangladesh with leading semiconductor companies, universities, investors and technology professionals across the United States through a series of engagements from 5-13 June.
The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) has launched the BSIA USA Roadshow 2026 under its Silicon River and BRAINGAIN programmes, aiming to deepen Bangladesh's engagement with the global semiconductor industry and strengthen ties with Bangladeshi-origin technology professionals abroad.
The multi-city roadshow, scheduled for 5-13 June, will bring together semiconductor companies, universities, researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers and members of the Bangladeshi diaspora across the United States, according to a press release.
The initiative is being led by BSIA President M A Jabbar and Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain of Purdue University, chief architect of the Silicon River Bangladesh Initiative.
Representatives from BSIA, academic institutions, the BRAINGAIN network and the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, DC, are also expected to participate.
According to the press release, the delegation will visit several major semiconductor and innovation hubs across the US, including Austin, Phoenix, Silicon Valley, Folsom and Portland.
The roadshow will begin in Austin, Texas, with engagements at AMD, Tokyo Electron (TEL) and NXP Semiconductors focused on workforce development, industry collaboration and partnership opportunities.
Subsequent events will include networking sessions and BRAINGAIN receptions involving Bangladeshi-origin semiconductor professionals, entrepreneurs, researchers and technology leaders.
The delegation is also scheduled to visit Arizona State University and Cactus Materials to discuss university-industry collaboration, advanced materials research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
In Silicon Valley and California, meetings are planned with SanDisk, GlobalFoundries, Synopsys, Credo Technology Group, Intel and Arm, alongside engagements with industry leaders and technology stakeholders.
A flagship BRAINGAIN Banquet Reception in Silicon Valley will bring together Bangladeshi-origin executives, academics, entrepreneurs, investors and global semiconductor industry leaders.
The roadshow will also include visits to Berkeley SkyDeck and YES (Engineering the Intelligent Future) to explore opportunities in innovation, startup development, venture creation and technology commercialisation.
According to the press release, the initiative forms part of the broader Silicon River Initiative, which seeks to connect Bangladesh with leading global technology ecosystems through talent development, research collaboration, entrepreneurship and international partnerships.
Speaking about the initiative, BSIA President M A Jabbar said, "Bangladesh's greatest competitive advantage is its people. Through Silicon River and BRAINGAIN, we are building bridges between global expertise and national aspirations. Our goal is to create opportunities for future generations, strengthen our innovation ecosystem, and position Bangladesh as a meaningful participant in the technologies that will shape the future."
Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain said, "The future of Bangladesh's semiconductor ecosystem will depend on talent, partnerships, and sustained collaboration. This roadshow is designed to strengthen relationships with global industry leaders, universities, entrepreneurs, investors, and the Bangladeshi diaspora while creating pathways for knowledge exchange, workforce development, innovation, and long-term ecosystem growth."
BSIA expects the roadshow to create new opportunities for collaboration in semiconductor workforce development, research, chip design, advanced packaging, artificial intelligence, technology transfer and emerging technologies, the press release added.
