UCB Investment completes Tk800cr bond fundraising for Jamuna Bank
UCB Investment Limited (UCBIL) has completed a Tk800 crore fundraising for Jamuna Bank PLC through its Subordinated Bond V, with the proceeds set to strengthen the bank's Tier II capital base under Bangladesh Bank's Revised Regulatory Capital Framework.
UCBIL acted as the lead arranger for the transaction. According to a press release, the proceeds will strengthen Jamuna Bank's Tier II capital base under Bangladesh Bank's Revised Regulatory Capital Framework.
The bond attracted a diverse investor base, with banks accounting for 50% of the total investment.
Individual investors, corporate entities, and mutual funds accounted for approximately 10%, 9%, and 9% of the investment, respectively. The remaining investment came from other institutional investors.
Jamuna Bank held a closing ceremony at its head office in Dhaka, attended by invited guests.
Jamuna Bank PLC Managing Director and CEO Mirza Elias Uddin Ahmed and UCB Investment Limited Founding Managing Director and CEO Tanzim Alamgir attended with senior officials from both organisations.
UCBIL said the transaction's successful completion reflected its continued ability to mobilise capital and deliver tailored debt-financing solutions for clients, reinforcing its presence in Bangladesh's capital market.
