Trust Bank launches second SICIP entrepreneurship batch
Trust Bank PLC has launched the second cohort of its month-long Entrepreneurship Development Programme, targeting skills enhancement and business capacity building for entrepreneurs in the cottage, micro, small, and medium enterprise (CMSME) sector.
The initiative is part of the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (SICIP), an undertaking of the Finance Division under the Ministry of Finance, supervised by the SME and Special Programmes Department (SMESPD) of Bangladesh Bank and funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The inaugural event took place on 6 April 2026 at Eque Heritage Hotel and Resort, Saidpur, Nilphamari.
Nawshad Mustafa, Director, SMESPD, Bangladesh Bank, attended as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the training. Mohammad Wasim, Deputy Programme Director (Programmes) and Joint Director, Bangladesh Bank, was present as a special guest.
Other attendees included Md Mahboob Hossain, SEVP and Head of Business Division, Trust Bank PLC, and Sadat Ahmad Khan, SVP and Head of SME Division.
The session was chaired by Brig Gen Mohammad Shamsuzzaman, aowc, psc (Retd), SEVP and Principal, Training Academy, Trust Bank PLC.
The training, running from 6 April to 4 May 2026, aims to equip CMSME entrepreneurs with practical knowledge in business planning, marketing, financial management, and enterprise development. Sessions are led by seasoned trainers from Bangladesh Bank and Trust Bank PLC.
