Syngenta Bangladesh to distribute 15,000 saplings by 2030
Syngenta Bangladesh has organised a tree plantation awareness programme and distributed saplings among school students in Rupganj, Narayanganj, under its SynGreen initiative.
The programme was held in observance of World Environment Day 2026.
The initiative, titled "SynGreen: Planting for a Greener Tomorrow", aims to encourage tree plantation, strengthen environmental awareness among young people and promote a greener Bangladesh.
The programme brought together Syngenta Bangladesh's country leadership team, school authorities, teachers and students.
Speaking as chief guest, Hedayet Ullah, Managing Director of Syngenta Bangladesh, said every tree planted today is an investment in a healthier and more sustainable future.
He said the SynGreen initiative seeks not only to plant saplings but also to inspire young people to take responsibility for protecting nature and preserving the environment.
The programme featured awareness sessions on the role of trees in addressing climate change, conserving biodiversity and maintaining ecological balance.
Students were encouraged to plant and care for the saplings distributed during the event as a symbol of their commitment to environmental stewardship.
As part of its sustainability initiative, Syngenta Bangladesh plans to distribute 15,000 saplings across the country by 2030 through SynGreen.
The company said it aims to work with educational institutions, local communities, government agencies and farming communities to expand green spaces, promote environmental responsibility and encourage collective action towards a more sustainable future.
