Southeast Bank reviews Dhaka, Mymensingh business performance
Southeast Bank PLC held its Business Review Conference for the Dhaka and Mymensingh regions on 5 September 2026, focusing on loan recovery, retail banking expansion, regulatory compliance and sustainable business growth.
The conference aimed to align the regions' strategic business objectives, address operational challenges, and formulate forward-looking action plans.

Participants reviewed the bank's business performance and operational activities up to June 2026 against the approved budget.
Discussions covered budget achievement, non-performing loan (NPL) recovery, branch-level targets, loan recovery plans and opportunities to expand the bank's retail business.
Particular emphasis was placed on expanding the bank's home loan, personal loan and credit card portfolios.
NPL recovery was identified as a top priority. Branch managers were advised to implement realistic recovery plans, strengthen engagement with borrowers, and take timely legal action when necessary.
The Managing Director and CEO of Southeast Bank, Md Khalid Mahmood Khan, joined the conference virtually and delivered the opening remarks.
He urged branch managers to ensure a compliance-based banking environment by adhering to regulatory guidelines, improving customer service, and identifying promising customer segments to expand the bank's retail business.
Discussing the bank's long-term strategy, he said Southeast Bank was focusing on targeted business initiatives, reducing NPLs, strengthening loan recovery, expanding its retail banking footprint and building a stable, low-cost deposit base.
Managing Director and CEO (Current Charge) Abidur Rahman Chowdhury delivered the concluding remarks.
He called on officials to work collectively with sincerity, innovative thinking, professionalism and accountability to achieve the bank's strategic objectives and business goals.
Additional managing directors, deputy managing directors, the Dhaka regional head, senior executives from the head office, departmental heads, branch managers from the Dhaka and Mymensingh regions and other officials were invited to and attended the conference.
