M A Khan Belal elected Mercantile Bank chairman
M A Khan Belal has been elected chairman of the board of directors of Mercantile Bank PLC.
He was elected at the bank's 490th board meeting, held at its head office in Dhaka on Thursday, 30 July, according to a press release.
Before his election, M A Khan Belal served as chairman of the bank's executive committee.

He has experience in trade, industry, shipping and banking, and currently serves as chairman of the Samrat Group of Companies.
He is also the elected president of the Noakhali Zilla Samiti.
M A Khan Belal has been involved in social welfare, education, healthcare and community development initiatives. He is also the founder of several schools, madrasas, mosques and socio-cultural organisations in Begumganj.
