Japanese group submits proposal to operate Dhaka airport’s third terminal
Japanese entity Sub Working Group has submitted its technical and financial proposals to operate and maintain the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Masahiru Hirai, representing the Japanese group, handed over the proposals to Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq at the CAAB headquarters in Dhaka today (25 August), according to a press release.
The proposals were submitted in separate technical and financial documents at around 2pm in the presence of CAAB members and representatives of the Japanese delegation.

An RFP Evaluation Committee constituted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism will assess the documents following the prescribed procedure.
The committee includes representatives from CAAB, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, the Prime Minister's Office, the Public-Private Partnership Authority, and the Roads and Highways Department.
Under the evaluation process, the technical proposal will be examined first, followed by the financial proposal.
Necessary discussions and negotiations will be held after the evaluations. If negotiations are concluded successfully, the contract-signing date will be finalised following the stipulated procedure.
The third terminal is one of the country's largest and most significant aviation infrastructure projects.
The project is expected to strengthen Bangladesh's aviation sector through modern technology, international-standard passenger services and efficient operational management.
