Commercial Bank of Ceylon to launch Islamic banking operations in Bangladesh
Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC will launch Islamic banking operations in Bangladesh on 23 August, expanding its portfolio and offering Shariah-compliant financial services.
The bank's Deputy Chairman Raja Senanayake and Global Managing Director Sanath Manatunge will arrive in Dhaka on 22 August to attend the inauguration on 23 August, according to a press release.
The initiative aims to meet customers' evolving financial needs in Bangladesh by combining Shariah-compliant banking solutions with the bank's international experience.
The bank said introducing Islamic banking marked an important step in its commitment to ethical, value-driven financial services in Bangladesh.
During their visit, Senanayake and Manatunge are also scheduled to meet clients, industry leaders and business partners.
The meetings will focus on strengthening existing relationships, assessing market opportunities and exploring potential areas for further growth and investment in Bangladesh.
