Commercial Bank of Ceylon inaugurates DEPZ sub-branch, offshore banking unit
Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC Bangladesh Operations has officially opened its new DEPZ sub-branch and offshore banking unit.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the new premises on Tuesday (12 May), marking another significant step in the bank's continued expansion and commitment to facilitating global trade.
The new sub-branch and offshore banking unit were inaugurated by Commercial Bank of Ceylon Bangladesh Operations Chief Executive Officer Najith Meewanage and Dhaka Export Processing Zone Executive Director Md Shariful Islam.
The ceremony was also attended by the bank's senior leadership team, including Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer Haily Algewatte, and Deputy CEO and Head of Corporate Banking Mahmud Hossain.
The opening event was attended by several corporate clients, local business leaders, DEPZ officials and members of the bank's staff.
Strategically located to serve the robust industrial and commercial sector of the Dhaka Export Processing Zone, the new sub-branch and offshore banking unit are equipped to provide comprehensive and specialised financial solutions.
The new unit of the bank will provide specialised offshore banking solutions, seamless general banking services and tailored trade finance facilities to support export-oriented industries.
The bank said the enhanced services would contribute to Bangladesh's economic growth by supporting businesses operating in and around the export processing zone.
