BUFT Cineframe Fest concludes with awards for student filmmakers
BUFT Cineframe Fest 2026—a three-day festival celebrating student filmmaking—concluded at BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) on 9 July, with top honours awarded to the creators of the best entries among 28 student-produced short films.
Presented by Giant Group and Education Hub and organised by the BUFT Photography Club, the festival commenced on 7 July. The event featured a short-film competition and screenings of several films, including "Bonolota Express", "Utsab" and "The University of Chankharpul".
Chairman of the BUFT Board of Trustees Faruque Hassan attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. Director of Giant Group, Sharmin Hassan Tithi, was a special guest, while Dr Ayub Nabi Khan, vice-chancellor designate of BUFT, was also present.
Film personalities Runa Khan, Sadia Islam Mou and Mir Sabbir, as well as other film directors, attended the event.
Speakers included the Director of the Public Relations Department, Mohammad Imtiaj, and Dr Md Waliul Alam, Director of Student Welfare. Faculty members, officials and students also attended. A jury panel selected the winning short-film entries.
