BUBT successfully held Its 6th Convocation Ceremony
Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) proudly hosted its 6th Convocation Ceremony at the BCFCC, Agargaon, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka. The prestigious event commenced at 11:00 AM and brought together esteemed dignitaries, faculty members, graduates, and distinguished guests.
The convocation began with the National Anthem and the recitation of the Holy Books.
His Excellency Mr Mohammed Shahabuddin, the Hon'ble President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and Chancellor of BUBT had delegated his authority to Professor Dr S M A Faiz, Chairman of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, who presided over the ceremony and conferred degrees upon the graduating students.
The ceremony officially commenced with the arrival of the Honourable Convocation President and distinguished guests. Professor Dr A B M Shawkat Ali, Vice Chancellor of BUBT, delivered a warm welcome address, highlighting the university's commitment to excellence in education and congratulating the graduating students on their academic achievements. He emphasised the importance of lifelong learning and encouraged graduates to uphold the values of knowledge, integrity, and service to society.
Mr Shamsul Huda, FCA, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BUBT, addressed the audience. He expressed pride in the institution's continuous progress and contributions to higher education in Bangladesh and reiterated the university's dedication to producing skilled professionals and ethical leaders for the nation.
The event was further enriched by an inspiring speech from Dr Syed Manzoorul Islam, Professor Emeritus of the Department of English, University of Dhaka, who graced the occasion as the Convocation Speaker. He motivated the graduates to embrace challenges, think critically, and contribute meaningfully to society through their knowledge and skills.
One of the key highlights of the convocation was the formal conferral of degrees, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of the graduates. This was followed by presenting gold medals and crests to outstanding students to recognise their academic excellence and achievements. The ceremony honoured exceptional academic performers with prestigious gold medals for their dedication and hard work. Israt Jahan, from the MBA 48th Intake, received the Chancellor's Gold Medal for her outstanding academic excellence. Labyba Ferdous, a M.Sc. in Economics, 38th Intake student, was awarded the Chairman, Board of Trustees' Gold Medal for her remarkable performance. Additionally, Rabeya Afrin Meem, from the BBA 45th Intake, earned the Vice Chancellor's Gold Medal for her exceptional academic achievements. These awards testify to their perseverance, commitment, and excellence, inspiring future graduates to strive for similar success.
In his address, Professor Dr S M A Faiz congratulated the graduates and urged them to use their education to create positive change in the world. He emphasised the importance of ethical leadership, innovation, and social responsibility.
The convocation ceremony concluded with the National Anthem and the departure of the Hon'ble Convocation President and distinguished guests.
Following the formal proceedings, a lunch session and a cultural program were arranged to celebrate the graduates' achievements and mark the joyous occasion.
