Beximco Pharma plants trees to mark World Environment Day
Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited marked World Environment Day with a series of tree-planting initiatives at educational institutions and at its Tongi factory, underscoring the company's commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement.
The programmes, held on Monday at UCEP-Tongi Pourashava Kalabagan School and Hazi Kasimuddin Public School and College, brought together students, teachers, school staff and Beximco Pharmaceuticals employees in a collaborative effort to promote environmental awareness and foster greener communities.
Participants planted various tree species on the school grounds, while students received fruit-bearing saplings to plant in their own neighbourhoods.

The initiative aimed to expand green coverage and instil a lasting sense of environmental responsibility among young people.
The two neighbouring schools are of particular significance to Beximco Pharmaceuticals due to their proximity to the company's operations.
Company representatives reiterated their commitment to deepening engagement with the schools through future educational, environmental and community-focused initiatives.
Beximco Pharmaceuticals pledged to strengthen its collaboration with the institutions through a range of initiatives to benefit students and support local community development.
As part of the observance, Rabbur Reza, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Beximco Pharmaceuticals, planted an avocado tree at the company's Tongi factory premises.
He said, "Environmental stewardship is a continuous journey. At Beximco Pharmaceuticals, we believe meaningful change comes from consistent action every day. Through initiatives like these and our ongoing sustainability efforts, we are committed to creating a greener future for our communities and future generations."
Rabbur Reza also highlighted the company's ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability into its daily operations.
He noted that Beximco Pharmaceuticals has taken significant steps to reduce plastic consumption across its facilities, including eliminating plastic water bottles at its factories.
The company also prioritises responsible water management and continuously seeks to minimise water wastage and enhance resource efficiency across its operations.
