ASICS opens first Bangladesh store to tap growing fitness market
ASICS, the renowned Japanese sportswear brand, has made its Bangladesh debut with the opening of its first store in Dhaka, signalling a strategic move into the country's burgeoning fitness and lifestyle retail sector.
DBL Lifestyles Limited, the retail arm of DBL Group, is the authorised franchise partner for ASICS in Bangladesh, the company said in a press release.
The launch commenced with an early morning run, reflecting the brand's founding philosophy, "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano" ("A Sound Mind in a Sound Body").
Following the run, ASICS officially unveiled its inaugural store in Dhaka, introducing its sportswear, running shoes, athletic gear, apparel, and accessories to the Bangladeshi market.
The launch underscores ASICS' commitment to reinforcing its position as a global leader in performance-driven sportswear and lifestyle innovation, the company stated.
Founded in 1949 by Kihachiro Onitsuka, ASICS derives its name from the Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano", which continues to define the company's ethos.
The company designs and manufactures running shoes, athletic and SportStyle-inspired footwear, apparel, and accessories.
