Aga Khan Academy Dhaka class secures over US$3m in scholarships
The Aga Khan Academy Dhaka's Class of 2026 has received more than 200 university offers and scholarships totalling more than US$3 million after achieving above-global-average results in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP).
The academy's second DP cohort recorded an average score of 34.4 points, compared with the global average of 30.9, according to a press release.
The highest individual score was 42 out of 45 points, while nine students achieved 38 points or above.

Fourteen students received bilingual diplomas, which are awarded to students who complete two language and literature courses.
The academy said the achievement reflected its commitment to developing learners who are locally rooted and internationally minded.
Students received more than 200 offers from universities in Bangladesh, Hong Kong, the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Malaysia and Canada.
The institutions included The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the University of Melbourne and New York University.
Among the successful students, Shayan Hossain scored 42 points and received full funding to study civil engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
His scholarship includes a renewable annual award of HK$215,000, comprising a full tuition-fee waiver of HK$200,000 and HK$15,000 for living and accommodation expenses.
"My journey at the Aga Khan Academy Dhaka showed me that the most meaningful learning often happens when things do not go as planned," Shayan said.
"It taught me to stay curious, keep improving through setbacks and trust that persistence matters just as much as ability," he added.
Zabeer Omar Hossain, who scored 41 points, received a full scholarship to study engineering in artificial intelligence and data science at The University of Hong Kong.
"My time at the academy prepared me for the next part of my journey by reminding me that each of us follows our own path," Zabeer said.
"If we keep improving our skills steadily, the results will follow. The academy encouraged consistency and perseverance, and those values have shaped how I understand excellence," he added.
The IB Diploma Programme is a rigorous two-year pre-university course recognised by leading universities worldwide.
At the Aga Khan Academy Dhaka, the programme forms part of a broader educational experience emphasising academic excellence, ethical leadership, pluralism, service and meaningful engagement with local and global issues.
The academy said the Class of 2026 reflected its continued growth as an IB World School and its mission to prepare young people for lives of leadership and service.
