He also said unused airports across the country would be repaired and brought into operation on domestic routes
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat today (4 May) said Bangladesh has signed an agreement with Boeing to add "international standard" aircraft to the country's aviation fleet.
He made the remarks after the first session of the second day of the deputy commissioners' conference, while briefing reporters on directives given to DCs regarding civil aviation and tourism.
The state minister said, "To bring the national fleet up to international standards, we have already signed an agreement to purchase 14 Boeing aircraft, and we will also lease several more aircraft."
He also said unused airports across the country would be repaired and brought into operation on domestic routes.
Millat expressed hope that the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport would be inaugurated this year.
"We hope to launch the third terminal on 16 December," he said.
