Swachip leader Dr Mishu held in Bogura
He was arrested in an attempted murder case linked to July mass uprising.
Police have arrested Samir Hossain Mishu, former treasurer of Bogura chapter of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) and a leader of the pro-Awami League physicians' platform Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad (Swachip), from a hotel in Sherpur upazila of Bogura district, in an attempted murder case linked to July mass uprising.
Tipped off, a team of police arrested Dr Mishu, who also serves as an instructor at Bagerhat Government Medical Assistant Training School (MATS), from Hotel Muktel in Dhunat Mor area of Sherpur upazila in around 11:30pm yesterday (23 june), said SM Moin Uddin, officer-in-charge of Sherpur Police Station.
Dr Mishu, son of late Dr Safdar Hossain of Jaleshwaritala area in Bogura city, went to Hotel Muktel last night to attend a birthday party of a physician friend from where police arrested him.
Later, he was shown arrested as in an attempted murder case related to the July mass uprising filed with Bogura Sadar Police Station.
Later he was handed over to Bogura Sadar Police Station, said the OC.
He also served as acting Civil Surgeon of Bogura district and as Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer of Bogura Sadar upazila.
Currently, he is serving as Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer of Bagerhat Sadar upazila.
