Half-decomposed body of child, missing for 2 days, recovered in Brahmanbaria
According to her family, Mim went missing on Saturday morning when she left home for her maternal grandfather's house.
Police recovered the half-decomposed body of a seven-year-old girl from a pond in Brahmanbaria's Nabinagar upazila today (21 September), two days after she went missing.
The body of Mim, daughter of Mizanur Rahman of Biddyakut village, was recovered from a pond in Biddyakut Union this afternoon.
According to her family, Mim left home on Saturday morning (19 September), saying she was going to her maternal grandfather's house. When she did not return, family members searched various places but could not find her.
Locals spotted her half-decomposed body in bushes beside the pond near Biddyakut Barabari today and informed police.
Nabinagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Morshedul Alam Chowdhury said the body was sent to the morgue of Brahmanbaria General Hospital for autopsy.
"An investigation into the death has already begun," he said.
