Man shot, hacked to death inside Keraniganj salon
The 23-year-old was reportedly a member of the Patali gang, a youth gang based in Mohammadpur’s Rayerbazar area.
A 23-year-old man was shot and hacked to death inside a salon in the capital's Keraniganj this afternoon (15 September).
The deceased was identified as Md Farhad Hossain.
The incident took place around 3pm in front of a salon in the Arshinagar area of Keraniganj. Farhad was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) after being critically injured in the attack, where on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Keraniganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ruhul Quddus confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
"Farhad is involved in drug-related activities, and we have initially learned that he was killed over this. CCTV footage shows three people involved in the killing, and we are trying to identify them," he said.
According to local and police sources, Farhad was reportedly a member of the Patali gang, a youth gang based in Mohammadpur's Rayerbazar area.
CCTV footage obtained by this reporter shows three youths entering Raj Salon around 3pm. One of them, wearing a black T-shirt, takes a pistol out of a bag, while the other two are carrying machetes.
The three then shoot and hack Farhad as they come out of the salon before fleeing the scene, leaving him seriously injured on the road.
Farhad was wearing only a lungi at the time of the attack.
Police could not immediately confirm where on his body he was shot.
His body was kept at the DMCH morgue, while a police team was sent to the scene.
The OC said further details would be available after the investigation.
