Intern doctors at SZMCH have suspended outpatient services amid a work stoppage following an attack by relatives of a patient who died at the hospital.
Intern doctors at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZMCH) in Bogura have suspended outpatient services amid their ongoing work stoppage.
They shut the outpatient ticket counter at around 9:45am.
The intern doctors subsequently staged a sit-in in front of the hospital, announcing that all services except the emergency department would remain suspended until their demands were met.

Hospital authorities later broke the lock on the counter and took steps to resume outpatient services, according to the sources.
The sudden closure of the outpatient ticket counter caused suffering for patients who had travelled from different areas to seek treatment at the hospital.
SZMCH Deputy Director Monjur-a-Morshed said the hospital authorities were scheduled to meet the intern doctors at 12pm today to discuss their demands.
The intern doctors have been observing the work stoppage since midnight on Tuesday after several of them were injured in an attack by relatives of a patient who died at the hospital.
A case has been filed over the incident.
Police arrested six people in connection with the attack, and a court later sent them to jail.
