Huge crowds joined Jashne Julus processions in Dhaka, Chattogram and Munshiganj today (26 August) to mark Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) and 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.
People from different parts of the country began gathering at Suhrawardy Udyan before dawn. By morning, the park and surrounding areas were filled with participants of different ages, many dressed in white and wearing caps.
The procession began around 11am from the South Gate of Suhrawardy Udyan under the leadership of Aulad-e-Rasul (PBUH), Shah Sufi Dr Syed Saifuddin Ahmad Al-Hasani, president of Anjuman-e-Rahmania Mainia Maizbhandaria.

It passed through Doel Chattar, Shikkha Bhaban and Secretariat Road before returning to Suhrawardy Udyan.

Peace gathering follows Dhaka procession
Following the procession, an International Peace Grand Gathering was held at Suhrawardy Udyan.
In his presidential address, Shah Sufi Dr Syed Saifuddin Ahmad Maizbhandari said the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was a mercy for all humanity and that justice, humanity and peace could be established by following his teachings and ideals.
He said the Prophet taught harmony, brotherhood, love and humanity, adding that these values were particularly important amid wars, conflicts and instability around the world.
He also said the significance of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi should not be limited to ceremonial observance, but should inspire people to establish justice, compassion and mutual harmony in their individual, family and social lives.
Foreign guests from Türkiye, Morocco, Canada, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Australia, Egypt, Lebanon, Brazil, Pakistan and India addressed the gathering.
Women also participated in the gathering in significant numbers.
The event concluded with a special Munajat seeking the welfare of the country and its people, as well as peace and the wellbeing of humanity. The Munajat was led by Shah Sufi Dr Shahzada Syed Saifuddin Ahmad Maizbhandari, incumbent Imam of Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif.
Jashne Julus held in Chattogram
In Chattogram, the 55th historic Jashne Julus was held, drawing thousands of people from different parts of the country.
The procession, organised by Anjuman-e-Rahmania Ahmadiya Sunnia Trust, began around 9:30am from Almagir Khanqa-e-Qaderia Syedia near Jamia Ahmadiya Sunnia Kamil Madrasa in Sholashahar. It was led by Darbar-e-Siricote's Sajjadanshin Pir Allama Syed Muhammad Sabir Shah.
The procession was scheduled to pass through Muradpur, 2 No Gate, GEC intersection, WASA, Dampara, Lalkhan Bazar and Tigerpass before ending at the madrasa field.
Around 10,000 volunteers were deployed alongside law enforcement personnel to maintain discipline and security.
Thousands join procession in Munshiganj
In Munshiganj, separate Jashne Julus processions were brought out from different parts of the town in the morning. The processions later converged at the Lichutala Flag 71 sculpture area, where a religious discussion, Milad and Dua Mahfil were held.
Several thousand people from different parts of the district participated in the programme, which concluded with Milad and Munajat.
