Measles: Death toll rises to 747 as 2 more children die
With the latest fatalities, the number of suspected measles deaths has risen to 654, while laboratory-confirmed measles deaths remain at 93, DGHS said in its daily update.
Bangladesh has recorded nearly 1,09,000 suspected measles cases since mid-March, with more than 13,000 infections confirmed through laboratory tests.
Two more children died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours until 8am today (9 July), taking Bangladesh's combined total of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 747, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the reporting period, the country recorded 818 new suspected measles cases, raising the cumulative number of suspected infections to 1,08,998. Meanwhile, 128 new laboratory-confirmed cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed measles infections to 13,198.
According to DGHS data, a total of 92,031 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalised since 15 March. Of them, 88,419 have recovered.
