Measles: Death toll reaches 854 as 5 more children die in 24 hours
A total of 1,15,224 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalised across the country, of whom 1,11,005 have recovered, according to DGHS data.
Five more children died from measles-like symptoms in 24 hours until 8am today (5 August), bringing Bangladesh's combined tally of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 854.
According to the latest data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the number of suspected measles deaths has risen to 758 while the number of laboratory-confirmed measles deaths has reached 96.
A total of 959 new suspected measles cases were reported during the 24-hour period, bringing the cumulative number of suspected cases nationwide to 13,2905.

Meanwhile, 124 new confirmed measles cases were recorded, bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed infections to 16,655.
