Measles: Death toll at 997 as 3 more children die
DGHS recorded 1,156 new suspected cases and 60 confirmed infections in the latest 24-hour period.
Three more children died from measles-like symptoms in 24 hours until 8am today (7 September), bringing Bangladesh's combined tally of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 997.
With the latest update, the number of suspected measles deaths has risen to 897 while the number of laboratory-confirmed measles deaths has reached 100, according to the daily update from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
A total of 1,156 new suspected measles cases were reported during the 24-hour period, bringing the cumulative number of suspected cases nationwide to 1,65,304.

Meanwhile, 60 new confirmed measles cases were recorded, bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed infections to 19,756, according to DGHS data.
Since 15 March, a total of 1,45,270 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalised across the country, of whom 1,39,831 have recovered.
