Dengue: 2 patients die, 190 hospitalised in 24 hrs
According to DGHS data, a total of 102,861 dengue cases and 413 dengue-related deaths were recorded in 2025.
Two people died and another 190 others were hospitalised due to dengue across Bangladesh in the 24 hours between 8am yesterday (8 July) and 8am today (9 July).
During the period, one person died from dengue in the Dhaka North City Corporation and another in Khulna Division, according to the daily update of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
So far, 24 dengue-related deaths and a total of 7,557 cases have been recorded this year.
Among the 190 new patients, 48 are from Barishal Division, 34 from Chattogram, 22 from Khulna, six from Mymensingh, seven from Rajshahi, and two from Sylhet—all outside the city corporation areas.
In the capital, 31 new patients were from Dhaka North City Corporation and 40 from Dhaka South.
During the 24-hour period, 193 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the tally of recoveries this year to 7,068.
According to DGHS data, a total of 102,861 dengue cases and 413 dengue-related deaths were recorded in 2025.
In 2024, the country saw 101,214 dengue infections and 575 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease.
