Govt appoints new Sylhet DC in fresh reshuffle
The latest reshuffle comes less than two weeks after Cumilla Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Reza Hasan was transferred to Sylhet on 28 June.
The government has once again changed the deputy commissioner (DC) of Sylhet, appointing ICT Division Deputy Secretary Abdullah Al Mamun as the district's new deputy commissioner.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification today (9 July) confirming the appointment.
The latest reshuffle comes less than two weeks after Cumilla Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Reza Hasan was transferred to Sylhet on 28 June.
However, he did not assume charge of the post. Allegations surfaced that he was unable to join following opposition from a minister.
Reza Hasan had already relinquished his responsibilities as Cumilla DC in preparation for joining Sylhet, while a new deputy commissioner was appointed for Cumilla following his transfer.
Earlier, on 21 June, the then Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Sarwar Alam was withdrawn from the post and attached to the Ministry of Public Administration.
