SSC, equivalent exam results to be published on 10 Aug

The results of this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will be published nationwide on 10 Aug, the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee announced today (27 July).

In a press release, the committee said detailed instructions on how students can access their results will be issued separately. It urged students, guardians, heads of educational institutions, centre secretaries and all concerned to make the necessary preparations.

The results were initially scheduled to be published on 20 July but were postponed as preparations could not be completed on time.

Prof Syed Akhtaruzzaman, president of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, told TBS that the authorities had originally planned to publish the results on 20 July but had to defer the date due to incomplete preparations.

"The Ministry of Education was keen to maintain the long-standing practice of publishing the results within two months of the completion of the examinations. However, preparations for the HSC examinations coincided with the SSC result publication process, creating some complications. In addition, the Prime Minister will attend the result publication programme, and coordinating the schedule also required extra time. Overall, the delay is mainly due to various administrative complexities," he said.

This year's SSC and equivalent examinations began on 21 April, while the written tests concluded on 20 May. Practical examinations were held afterwards.

More than 18 lakh and 50 thousand candidates sat for this year's examinations, including SSC under the nine general education boards, Dakhil under the Madrasah Education Board, and SSC (Vocational) and Dakhil (Vocational) under the Technical Education Board.
