Primary and Mass Education State Minister Bobby Hajjaj has said the government's new education system will provide teacher guides, workbooks, remedial guides and video lessons alongside textbooks for every subject to support classroom learning.
He made the remarks today (12 July) while inaugurating a workshop to finalise the framework of four new textbooks for the 2027 academic year at the International Mother Language Institute in Segunbagicha, Dhaka.
"The government is developing a modern and integrated education system aimed at preparing the new generation as skilled, creative and patriotic citizens. Under the new system, students will have opportunities to learn both inside and outside the classroom," said the state minister.
He said the new curriculum will move away from rote learning and focus on developing problem-solving skills, leadership, teamwork, creativity and human values.
It will also strengthen the link between education and real life through practical learning.
Bobby Hajjaj said the curriculum would place importance on cultural and sports education.
Cultural education will help students learn about the country's history, heritage and values, while sports education will promote leadership, discipline and teamwork.
He added that teacher training would receive the highest priority in implementing the new curriculum.
The curriculum would also be designed with the realities of nearly 65,000 government primary schools in mind so that it is practical to implement and does not place excessive pressure on students.
Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon, the state ministers for Cultural Affairs and Youth and Sports, officials from the relevant ministries, educationists and curriculum experts attended the event.
